Subject: Serial rapist in area. Come learn from a veteran of victimology, assault

I am Kris Gooding. Mom-Psychotherapist-Self Defense trainer:

Here is a recent post from the news regarding the latest serial rapist in our area. Read, and then follow below for my comments:

 After he raped her,
detectives said he left her in the remote location.

Four more Marion County women described the same man as the person who sexually battered them in separate attacks between July 19 and Oct.12, according to authorities. Sheriff's Office Sgt. Jerry Bevan said the man is about 5-foot-10 to 6-foot-3 between 30 and 45 years old with freckles and short reddish blonde hair. He weighs 200 pounds to 250 pounds, he said. "We don't know what he'll do next," Bevan said. "We don't know much about him."

'Vulnerable women' attacked, cop says. The little detectives do
know came from the victims, who described their experiences in detail. Two of
the attacks happened in the Silver Springs Shores area of Marion County during
the summer. The women told detectives they willingly entered the man's green
minivan when he offered them a ride as they were walking on the side of the
road. Inside, they said there was a child's car seat, toys and tools. Bevan
said the first victim described being taken to an abandoned shed in a wooded
area and raped inside the van. She told detectives that she heard of another
woman that had also been attacked there. "They all seem to be vulnerable
women," Bevan said, noting that they were walking alone on the road before
the attacks.

Two more women were beaten and severely injured in similar
incidents on Sept.19 and Oct.12, said Ocala police Det. Stephanie McQuaig.Rapist
may have multiple vehicles In the most recent attack, the victim told police
she struggled with the man and cut him.. In two of the cases, the women were
able to escape while the others were abandoned in a remote location. One woman told detectives she was approached and forced into the car.

OK. This is just a bit of what we are hearing. Now read on for what I have to say:  Im not trying to create fear. I can tell you some ways to dissect this story and others like it to learn how safe you really can be.

I have extensive history with sexual assault survivors for over 15 years, have been Self Defense Trainer for the same.  I have worked with victims in many capacities. I have for many years as a therapist treated PTSD,
worked through the hospital exams and interviews subsequent to a report (mostnever report though), walked through the court process and worked extensively through the healing work.

I have interviewed perpetrators and studied perpetrator mentality for 15 years. I know the stories and have helped the women who have survived the worst nightmares you could imagine, and I have worked with hundreds of girls and women who have survived "date rape", intimidation, sexual harassment and a vast array of perpetrator behavior.

I taught and was trained by some of the best martial artists and self defense trainers in the Washington DC area for years. And I'm here now, in Gainesville. I want to help you understand what attackers and abusers look for, who they target and how they test and sometimes go on to assault their victims

I want to teach you skills to combat this behavior should you ever need to do so. More importantly, I want to teach you the REAL truth about the dangers that surround you, AND how safe you really are  - statistically. I
want to give you the knowledge and tools to be even more safe.

Finally, I want you to no longer walk in fear, avoid trips to the grocery store late at night, depend on mace or some other gadget, get frightened in parking garages or elevators - or in  your own home.

 Join me this November
as we come together as women and learn these tools.
Come to the
workshop and speak openly in a safe and nurturing environment. Ask the
questions you want, anything. I will give you REAL answers and I will break
down many common myths. Use my experience to help you be more safe.  I am someone who has learned from survivors
and from perpetrators - from a research and data. I will give you as much
information as I can in the limited time we will have together.  And, learn to kick
butt! ...If you ever need to. No fancy hard to remember or to learn techniques.
Simple moves you can do to disable even a large man and get away!  Studies show that women who have taken good classes such as this one, are less likely to become the target of an attacker. This is because of victim testing that almost all perpetrators do, and its your ticket to safety.  This class will be on a weeknight from 6 to 830 pm. and the following Saturday from 12 to 3:30. The date is not yet
determined, nor is the location. I wanted to get the word out and hear from you
if you are interested.

Email me if you want to talk or to get on the list.

P.S. This class will
be followed this Winter with a class for your older girl child and college age
young woman. Specially tailored to the needs of a young woman, and the special issues faced in our culture by girls- I will work with this group to help avoid the pitfalls around this issue in high school or during the college years - the most statistically dangerous of our lives with regard to sexual assault. I can
help them make this an empowering time. One with less fear but more
awareness,  and with greater tools to make good choices. I can not wait to
hear from you and start building safer worlds for girls and  women!

 Warmly,

Kris Gooding
