A place for moms to connect
Take a break from shopping and enjoy a holiday treat at your library. This time of year the shelves are decked with holiday books, stories fill the air and the spirit of the holiday season excites readers of all ages.
In addition to regular Storytimes at many branches here's a sampling of some fun outings for kids of all ages -
Dec. 5, 11 a.m. at Headquarters - Puppet Show: Jack and the Beanstalk presented by the Headquarters Puppeteers (ages 3 to 5).
Dec. 8, 10:30 a.m. at Millhopper Branch - contARTE- Mix Spanish & English language, and also art and stories during this bilingual story-art program. All ages welcome.
Dec. 10, 4 p.m. at Tower Road Branch - Winter Wonderland Crafts - Enjoy the chilly weather by creating fun crafts (ages 3 to 11).
Dec. 13, 11 a.m. at Alachua Branch - Storytime Holiday Celebration - Come join us for stories, song and dance for ages 3 to 5.
Dec. 16, 2 p.m. at Micanopy Branch - Holiday Movie: Arthur Christmas - Hey kids (ages 5 to 11), join us for a great holiday movie! We have elves, magic, ninja present deliveries... Together with soda and popcorn.
Dec. 18, 3:30 p.m. at Headquarters - Holiday Crafts and Reading Dogs - Join us for holiday crafts with Mr. Gerald. Also, come read to the Reading Dogs (ages 3 to 11).
Dec. 18, 4 p.m. at High Springs Branch, Holiday Origami - Teens, make cool paper art to hang on your tree, around the house or give to a friend. Tell us about what you're reading as we fold paper and munch. Snacks and materials provided by the High Springs Friends of the Library. (Teens)
Dec. 19, 3 p.m. at Newberry Branch - Gingerbread House Contest - Join us to build your very own gingerbread house this holiday season. The best gingerbread house will win a prize, and each attendee can eat or take home his own creation. (all ages)
