New to Gainsville - need help finding a good neighborhood/school
Hello Ladies,
I was recently offered a position there in Gainesville (Nationwide) and I am coming from Southern Florida. I need help finding a good neighborhood and a good school district. I do not know the area well nor anyone there. Any help would be great. Expected move date is January 2013.
My son is 7 and I am a single mom so close to the school and work would be ideal.

I don't usually post on this board, but I saw your post and wanted to let you know about the Fort Clarke area. The neighborhoods on this street are within walking distance to both Hidden Oak Elementary and Fort Clarke Middle School. There is an apartment complex on the street called Legacy Apartments, which is very family oriented. Since you will be working for Nationwide, you can get a discount on the lease (I don't recall the nature of the discount, but I believe it comes off of the deposit).
I also work for Nationwide, and used to live in the Legacy Apartments. I loved the schools and neighborhoods so much that I ended up buying a house in the subdivision right across the street. Welcome to Gainesville...I may even see you around the office some time!
