Perhaps if there were more of them then our kids wouldn't keep repeating the same things--disrespecting people (peers and elders), places and other things. We have let things go way too far--we have let many of the boundaries go for fear of damaging the our children's mental health--please. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction--sometimes good and sometimes not--Do I think the mom went to far? Not at all. I think she did a good job--making her daughter think about what she did in many different ways and she held her accountable for what she did wrong. The mom didn't waver and didn't change the rules or boundaries. She and the child were on the same page.
It doesn't sound like the daughter was harmed in any way by the punishment. She learned her lesson and even defended her mom in the article. But I don't agree with the other story mentioned in the article. Shooting a laptop just seems violent!
