A place for moms to connect
I could hardly believe this story when I read it. Up to 40 kids got their school lunches on, as normal, on Tuesday, but then watched as their lunches were taken away and thrown in the trash because of outstanding balances. The article says parents were contacted Monday and Tuesday about the money owed, but not all parents could be reached before Tuesday. Children who had their lunch taken away got milk and fruit.

I find this so unbelievably unacceptable. How did the child-nutrition manager (for the district) think this was a good idea!? I understand that the parents need to pay and that the school needs to get their money, but to punish the children!? If I were a parent at that school, boy would I be furious and doing everything I could to make sure the person who had this idea didn't make any more decisions for children.
