Interview Study of Moms of Young Children - looking for participants

Hi all,

Stacy has graciously invited me to post a message here about a study I am conducting. My name is Kate Mason, and I'm currently working on a PhD in sociology. For my current research project, I'm looking for women who are pregnant or are the mothers of young children (ages 0-5) and who would be willing to let me interview them. Specifically, I'm interested in hearing about your attitudes toward (and care of) your own body, both during and after pregnancy, as well as your values and beliefs that affect how you feed and take care of yourself and your children, more generally.

These interviews would last about an hour, and they could be conducted at a time and place of your choosing. In appreciation of your help with my project, I am able to offer a $5 gift certificate to all women who complete interviews with me, and all participants will also be entered in a raffle to win a $50 gift certificate. If you would be willing to chat with me, or if you have other questions about the project, please feel free to contact me at or on my cell phone - (401) 338-9578. Mothers living in a variety of family/household arrangements, from wide-ranging racial, ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds, and with any level of education are welcome; also, if you know of any other moms who might be interested in participating, please feel free to pass my information along to them.
