A place for moms to connect
Does anyone know where to buy local free range meat and/or eggs for a good price? I haven't seen much at Ward's, and I'm not sure where else to go. We just moved here a couple of weeks ago.
The Farmer's Markets in town typically have vendors who sell organic, local, and free range products. A few of the markets:
-Union Street Farmers’ Market on Gainesville's Bo Diddley Downtown Plaza on Wednesdays from 4 to 7 p.m. The plaza is at East University Avenue and SE 1st Street. This one is quite fun, but the time is usually inconvenient for me.
-Alachua County Farmers Market: The original market still has the largest selection of produce and draws folks from surrounding towns every Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the intersection of NW 34th Street and Route 441. I've never been to this one, but keep meaning to check it out.
-Haile Village Farmers' Market: Saturday morning market, 8:30 a.m. to noon in the Haile Village Center, 5323 SW 91st Ter, Gainesville, FL, 32608. I go to this one quite often, and then head over to Sisters for brunch.
-The High Springs Farmers Market on Thursdays, 2 to 6 p.m. and Saturdays, April through July, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at NW 2nd Avenue and Main Street. I've never been to this one.
-Green Market: Rooted in organic, local food. Open from 3 to 7 p.m. on Fridays and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Located at the intersection of Newberry Road and Northwest Eighth Avenue. I've never been to this one, but keep meaning to check it out.
Also, if you drive out in the country, you will run into farms that just have s sign indicating they sell eggs.
They have free range meat and eggs at Haile Village on sat morning. At Haile Plantation down Archer Rd going towards the town of Archer.. www.GainesvilleNaturalMeats.com

I have purchased chicken from them before. All good.
