Gainesville Moms

A place for moms to connect

My baby is due in April, and I need to find childcare for her once I return to work.  I am new to Gainesville, so I need all the advice or suggestions I can get. I would love to have someone who takes care of no more than 4 total, but I don't know if  that will happen. Does anyone have any recommendations on places or people that will provide good childcare for my future little one?

i use la petite academy and i love them. the woman who takes care of infants there is an amazing sweet little lady name caroline. all the kids love her, she's very grandmotherly towards them, very sweet and loving. she's been there nearly 20 years.
We go to Holy Trinity Childcare. My daughter has been there since she was 6 months old she is now 3 1/2. We have had issues with them but all and all my daughter likes it and I feel they take excellent care of my daughter. I know she is safe. I plan on potting my son who is due in February in there. We are going to try to keep him out for 6 months and start him in August.
Sonshine Day Care at Westside Baptist is great - in fact, some of the best daycares in the area are run by churches and I've heard good things about the daycare at B'Nai Israel too. Don't let the religious affilitions scare you off - you'll find a good mixture of folks from a variety of beliefs. I can't speak for the older classes at Sonshine, but the infant and baby classes have no more than eight children, with at least two (and sometimes more!) adults. They've been great for us and also have very experienced staff who have been there for many years. My baby lights up every time we walk in, so they're doing something right.
Did you ever find childcare?
