A place for moms to connect
Hey Moms! Just wanted to pass along some information on an upcoming event. My family hasn't been able to make it in the past, but I hear it's fun so we are going to try to make it this year! Here is the information... Has anyone been before?
The City of Gainesville’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs and the Friends of Nature Parks are pleased to present the Annual Cane Boil and FiddleFest at Morningside Nature Center on Saturday, November 24th from 9 am to 4 pm. Traditionally, cane boils were a time when friends and neighbors gathered for work and play. Help preserve that tradition and join us to experience the making and bottling of sugar cane syrup, live roots music, and costumed living history interpreters and demonstrators bringing to life a day on an 1870’s Florida farm.
The Longleaf Pine Youth Fiddle Contest will be held at the Cane Boil from 10 am to noon, followed by traditional music from talented local musicians. Registration is open for the Longleaf Pine Youth Fiddle Contest at http://www.friendsofnatureparks.org!
Make this event part of your Thanksgiving weekend tradition! Event admission is $3 for adults, $1 for children ages 3-12 and free for children under three.
