Couple beats child and then goes to Universal

This story is absolutely sick. A mother and her boyfriend beat a child so bad that he was hospitalized, and then they went on the run and had some fun at Universal. They were arrested right at the end of a parade and are now in jail. The little boy is still fighting to recover.

I just can't help but wonder if the punishment for child abuse needs to be tougher to keep parents from doing these horrible things to their children!? It just seems like something needs to change to help keep people from hurting innocent children!
