A place for moms to connect
I am in absolute shock. These children were 6 years old!!! They are still babies!
You can read about the incident here: http://www.wesh.com/news/9497190/detail.html
I have two big concerns with this story...where did the 8-year-old who "taught" the younger boys learn about these actions!? And the article says it happened probably 8 to 10 times over a three-week period! How had they not been seen!?

Permalink Reply by Lisa Morales on July 2, 2010 at 12:29am I think it happens more than we are aware of. My son had an incident last year at his summer camp and he and the other child were 5 years old. Luckily my son reported it to me the same day and I reported it to law enforcement and DCF. DCF unfortunately did nothing about it as the camp was within staff ratios for the age of the children, which to me was basically not holding them responsible for the actions of the children under their care or for the level of supervision provided. I was very disappointed with the response of the system and the child care facility who then tried to label my son a liar. I did not wish to punish the other child but wanted to be sure he received help since the actions he attempted were adult in nature and he has witnessed or been victimized himself.
