Gov. Charlie Crist made appointments to two North Florida groups this week.
A long-time Chiefland dentist was appointed to the Levy County Housing Authority.
Robert E. Mount Jr., 61, of Chiefland was appointed to the group by Gov. Charlie Crist. Mount was appointed to a four-year term beginning Tuesday and ending on February 27, 2012.
Local housing authorities in Florida are charged with assisting low income and disadvantaged residents in finding and maintaining affordable housing in safe and sanitary environments. The authorities also administer federal and state programs and grants.
Crist also appointed Glenda Hart, 62, of Mayo, to the Lafayette County School Board. A homemaker, Hart will fill a vacancy left by the passing of Robert "Andy" Hart, a statement from the governor's office reported.
