LAKELAND, Fla. – A body found in a vacant home has been identified as that of a 31-year-old missing Tampa mother.
Authorities in Lakeland and Tampa say that Jennifer Johnson, who has been missing since the weekend, was found dead inside a foreclosed home in Lakeland Tuesday night.
Johnson, of Tampa, was last seen arguing with her boyfriend on Friday outside of a Tampa nightclub; family members worried when she didn't show up for her daughter's birthday party.
Vincent Brown, 39, Johnson's ex-boyfriend and the child's father, is being held without bail at a Tampa jail for violating his probation on a cocaine-possession charge. Prosecutors have identified Brown as a suspect in a murder case but he has not been charged.
