It's almost here but you still have to get through another couple of days until football season finally arrives. So we're giving you a daily football fix leading right up to the first games on Aug. 28. Sun sports writers Pat Dooley and Robbie Andreu will provide lists, trivia, Swampcasts and essays to get you through the rest of the summer.

Today, in the penultimate Fix, Dooley puts on his Dr. Football clothes.
Dr. Football's predictions don't run in The Sun until Friday, so as we close out the Fix I thought I'd give you my thoughts on the Thursday night games.
Now these don't count in the overall record, they're just bonus picks.
Vanderbilt at Miami of Ohio: What does it say about your program when you are opening at Miami of Ohio? What's even worse is that viewers in Nashville don't get ESPNU. Vandy, 28-14.
N.C. State at South Carolina: If the Gamecocks lose this one it's going to be another long season for the ball coach. South Carolina, 27-10.
Wake Forest at Baylor: Is Baylor still in the league? Wake, 38-12.
Oregon State at Stanford: This could be a pretty entertaining game. Oregon State is one of those sleeper teams and Stanford should be improved. Oregon State, 27-23.
Troy at Middle Tennessee State: New coordinator and quarterback at Troy. That's all I know. MTSU, 19-17.
